Q & A's

Q. Do you supply your own PA system/Speakers?

Yes. I provide my own PA system and sound gear.

Q. What kind of equipment do you have?

Steve Carlyle Wedding Ceremony PA System, Guitar & Loop Station.HEIC
Ceremony PA System - JBL EON One Pro Mark 2

If your ceremony or canapes location has no access to power, that's no problem. These portable PA's carry all the battery life needed for your wedding ceremony and canapes and are capable of spreading sound at events up to 100+ people. They're both easily relocated from your ceremony to canapes locations, minimising any breaks in music.

2 x EV30M (1000W x 2) Portable PA Speakers

These are my favourite speakers for reception and larger events to date. A crisp sound, 1000 watts of power each; they're perfect for spreading acoustic sound around your venue throughout entrees and dinner, as well as creating all the bass required to keep your dancefloor alive till the last song is played. I'll also use your choice of a white or black DJ facade for a clean look.

Q. Can we use your mics for our ceremony/speeches?

Yes, you can use my wireless mics for your ceremony and speeches.

Q. Can we requests songs that are not on your Songlist?

Yes, I am happy to learn and perform songs that are not on my songlist for your key moment item songs. These include your ceremony songs, first dance, cake cutting and father/daughter dance.

Q. Tell us about your songlist?

I play from a wide mix of contemporary and older songs from pop, country, indie, classic rock and coastal roots genres. Depending on the mood or the moment, I typically play slower songs before and during your ceremony, upbeat songs to lift the energy during canapes, and songs most generations know during the reception. I also use a stomp and looping pedal to add a percussive and instrumental layer to the live performance. You can view my songlist here.

Q. Do you play background music
during your breaks?

Yes, I keep the music going from my iPad during breaks.

Q. What kind of DJ Style are you?
Can guests request songs?

For most weddings I cue a broad mix of contemporary bangers and old school hits that keep the dancefloor partying till close. Leading up to the wedding, I'll make sure I've cued your favourite genres, must have songs, so we're ready to go on the night.

I'm happy for your guests to take requests on the night, but if your venue is located where there is poor reception, I won’t be able to access songs if I don’t yet have them. So any details you can provide before the night regarding your must have songs, favourite genres, and guest's requests are super helpful!

Q. Do you supply lighting?

Yes! I have a Chauvet DJ GigBAR 2 which you can see in action in the video above.

Q. Will you travel outside of Brisbane?

Yes, I will play anywhere within South East Queensland and Northern NSW. Other locations are possible but additional travel and accomodation expenses will apply.
